Variables
Spotted Sandpiper
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with more than 56
miles of stream per sq. mi., especially where there is less than 6%
mixed conifer-deciduous forest and June precipitation (hex. min.) is
more than 23 mm. Among hexagons with lower stream density,
occurrence is associated with hexagons having varied topography.
Among hexagons with more mixed conifer-deciduous forest, occurred
mostly where June precipitation (hex. min.) is 23-75 mm. The logistic
regression analysis showed positive or negative association with
lakes/reservoirs, stream density, mixed conifer forest (Northeast
Oregon), and-to a lesser degree-subalpine fir - lodgepole pine
montane conifer, the extent of public land, April precipitation (hex.
med.), and topographic variation.
